This piece is one of my favorites among all the songs I've done with a choir. Everyone in the group enjoyed this song because of the heavy, somber beginning which transitions into a peaceful, hopeful ending. Afterwards, we had many people compliment us on this song, remarking how emotional yet beautiful it was. Being able to sing with a single cello was also a new and exciting experience.

Wings arranged by Kerry Marsh was easily my favorite song that Alpine Jazz has sung. It has such an empowering energy, and it was so incredibly fun to sing it alongside my friends! It was a challenging song to learn, which made it all the more satisfying to perform.

Senior Capstone
The VPA academy requires that you complete 10 hours of work experience related to your emphasis within the program. As the experience can be in either your Junior or Senior year, I decided to write about my experience student conducting my Junior year.
This experience was new and unknown to me, although I had wanted to conduct for years. Being able to put everything aside and make music with talented people was a highlight of my day. With a choir of nearly 30 people relying on me, I had to be sure I knew exactly what I was doing, which inspired me to really dive into music theory, which helped me tremendously after I was done teaching. Overall, this experience was something I wouldn't trade for anything, and wouldn't hesitate to do again.
